Halloween is just around the corner, but with warm weather still hanging around, you might be finding it difficult to get into the Halloween spirit. If you’re in this boat, don’t worry! There are plenty of things happening around the city that will spook and delight you.
Broad Ripple Zombie Walk
Brush up on your zombie makeup skills and rip up an old Halloween costume to prepare for this day full of undead fun. This year’s Zombie Walk is this Saturday, 10/22 and is bound to be a blast.
The event kicks off with a food drive at the Broad Ripple Kroger at 5pm, leads into the zombie walk at 7pm, and the zombie feast at 8pm with food from Broad Ripple Ice Cream and Hot Box Pizza. Afterwards, come celebrate at the Zombie Prom for all ages at Rock Lobster!

Haunted Houses
If you love a good scare, one of the best places to go is a haunted house. There are a few awesome choices in the Indianapolis area, with Necropolis, the City of Perpetual Darkness, topping these lists. Here’s the full run down.
Necropolis: Many claim this haunted house is almost too scary. Are you brave enough to make it through?

Fright Manor Haunted House: This attraction claims to be Indy’s scariest haunted house. Visit to decide for yourself.

Rocky Horror Picture Show
This cult classic is a fall favorite for many and can now be watched in person at the Athenaeum in downtown Indy.
This isn’t the movie, but there’s something pretty spectacular about watching this beloved musical play out right before your eyes. And this cast is insanely talented and definitely up to the task.
So, are you shivering with anticip….ation yet? Reserve your seat and check out the available showtimes here. Shows start on Friday, October 21st beginning at 8pm and run through Saturday, October 28th, with the last show starting at 7:30 pm.

Pumpkin Patches and More
Let’s be honest, nothing says fall more than pumpkins. Even though we’re in the city, that doesn’t mean we don’t have access to a variety of pumpkins, gourds, and other fall favorites.
You can find an amazing selection of pumpkins and other fall fun at Waterman’s Family Farm in Indianapolis. Enjoy their fresh baked goods and other produce at 7010 E Raymond Street.
If you don’t want to travel too far, check out the downtown city market’s Farmer’s Market on Wednesdays from 9:30 am until 1:30 pm for a variety of fall pumpkins and produce. Visit them at 222 E Market Street.
Of course there are some little markets and grocery stores you’ll find all across Indy (like Wildwood in Fountain Square) that also offer fall pumpkins and gourds.
