We have an FS houses family friend who runs a non-profit Theater company. Operating out of Chicago for the past decade plus, Ronan, has a plethora of knowledge and experience running the ins and outs of a theater. Having made the move back to Indiana, we are now helping with the search for a commercial property. Ideally the building would have at least 1250 sq ft, tall ceilings and a few (not to many) dedicated parking spaces.
As far as location goes Fountain Square seems to be the favorite, but with increasing prices and the further speculation following… we are very open minded. Fletcher place, Bates Hendricks, Garfield park, South Broad Ripple, Irvington, Little flower, Windsor park, St Clair place, Herron Morton, etc.
The Theater will be very community oriented. For example: displaying works from local artists in lobby. If there is additional space in the building possibly leasing to small restaurant / tap room / coffee shop. The possibilities are endless. We just need to find the right building with the right neighbors. 🙂
Fixer uppers will be considered, residential with possibility of re-zone will also be considered. Old churches, vacant warehouse space, old store fronts, etc. Please contact us if you have a building in mind! ..OR might know someone that does.
To be clear, we are looking to Buy. Leasing hasn’t been ruled out but the Theater needs a permanent home in a loving neighborhood. Pricing obviously has to be reasonable considering this is a Non-profit organization.
